Busy Fall for Madville in 2026

Madville has been busy this fall. This is our table in the bookfair at Untitled Town in Greenbay, Wisconsin.

The month of September rolled along smoothly. We had a lot of events on the calendar, but we handled them. We didn’t sell a lot of books, but book fairs only ever generate moderate success dollar-wise. But we got to be among like-minded, talented folks.

I’m writing this in mid October as we all prepare for Halloween. It took ten days to gather my wits. These are the fall festivals we’ve attended this year:

October 1 – 3, 2026

Several Madville authors were in attendance, including Steven T. Moore, Goutham Rao, and R.J. Lee. Kim Davis was there as well. Goutham gave a workshop, RJ Lee played and sang, Steven conducted the whole conference, (he’s TACW president.)

Kim Daivs spoke on several workshops and panels and manned a table in the book fair with help, or course!

  • Workshop: “No Experience Required; Discovering Your Inner Writer in Retirement”
  • “What a Small Press Can and Cannot Do for an Author”
  • “Short. Sharp. Shocking: Flash Fiction Live!”
  • Panel Discussion: “The Business of Writing Pt 2”

September 3 – 6, 2026

Unbound, the Wild Goose Festival in Harmony, NC September 3-6

Kim Davis attended the Wild Goose Festival in Harmony, North Carolina, with Madville author R.J. Lee. It was an amazing experience which finished with a BIG storm. (Last time Kim was in NC, Hurricane Helene followed her all the way home) https://wildgoosefestival.org/

Six Madville Books went to the London Book Fair

Our friends, Jade and Wilnona, the “And I Thought Ladies,” took six or our recent titles to the London Book Fair this year. These are some of the pictures they sent back. We expect a few more, so check back! We wish we could have joined them. It looks like they had a really great time in our tiny 2 meter by 2 meter booth.

Here is an article we just read that does a great job of describing the experience of the London book Fair. That NYT Piece about LBF??

The Pulpwood Queens have always supported Madville authors and they did it again at their Girlfriend Weekend 2023 on Amelia Island, Florida. We had an absolute blast! What a party!

  • Let Me Say This: A Dolly Parton Poetry Anthology, edited by Julie E. Bloemeke & Dustin Brookshire, and featuring Robert Gwaltney and 53 other wonderful authors.
  • Tom Shachtman, with his Memoir of the Minotaur
  • Wondra Chang, with her novel, Sonju, and
  • Francine Rodriguez, with A Woman’s Story.
